So You Want To Start a Fast?

“In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.” Daniel 10:2, 3
Hey guys,  I know it's been a while since I last blogged! I recently finished a 40 day fast, yup a 40 day fast!!! I wanted to do the fast so I can draw my relationship to Jesus much closer. I also wanted to dedicate the first 40 days to HIM! Now my fast was kind of extreme so you don't have to do 40 days.
The Daniel Fast is where you eat certain types of food for 21 days so you can have a closer relationship with God just like Daniel did in the bible.  Let's get this clear! A fast is not a diet! If you're goal for this fast is to lose weight...you might as well quit. The main goal of fasting is to get an intimate relationship with your Heavenly Father. It is denying your flesh so you can hear more from Him. It's about spending more time reading and studying the Word and also in prayer. In time you will noticed that your body will lose weight, some of your body ailments will disappear. (These are some of the benefits but this is not the goal of fasting).

My fast started from 6am - 6pm. After 6pm I ate very light vegan food. I mostly ate raw fruits and veggies, oats and nuts. To be honest the fast was kind of hard but you'll get through it with the grace of God! After completing the fast I felt more at peace, full of love joy and kindness for others. My faith in God increased and I also crave more for the Word. The fast doesn't have to be with just food you can fast from Facebook/ Twitter, Internet, television so that you have more time to pray read and study the Word of God! I pray this blesses and encourages you ! Let me know if you're going to start the Daniel Fast!

I provided a list below of the foods to include in your Daniel Fast! Enjoy!

This is my favorite product at Whole Foods! Apple Cider Vinegar has so many benefits for your health and beauty! What I love about this product is that it's easy to use! You can sprinkle some on your salads and even popcorn! I prefer to drink with my smoothies and juices. You can even drink with water and organic honey (if you don't like the taste). You can also use it as toner for your face!
Here are some the benefits:

Happy New Year!

Wow we made it to 2013! Thank you Jesus! 2012 was a great year for me! I witness how God moved through all areas of my life. Whether it was through work, school, relationships, health, finances and more..my Jesus was there. With the start of the New Year, mostly everyone is writing out their new goals and resolutions. Some people probably want to lose weight, start on their dreams, make more money etc. But friend let me tell you if God is nowhere in your plans don't be surprise when things don't go according to your plans. God wants to be numero uno in our life! He wants to bless us with an abundant life!

Matthew 6:33 (KJV) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

John 10:10 (KJV)"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

In order to do that you have to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Sins are whatever that keeps you separated from God. Confess your sins and repent. Repent means to turn away from. When you start following Christ truly you would want to stay obedient to his Word. Your whole way of thinking will change and even your heart! Yes, we are not perfect and we will make mistakes but God has new mercies for us each and everyday.
Lamentations 3:23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. So with that I pray you have an awesome 2013 filled with love, joy, peace and prosperity in Jesus' name!

Stop Worrying!!!

Just wanted to give a word of encouragement for those who feel like things are not happening like they should. Sometimes life doesn't go as we planned. Our expectations are so high that when we don't get what we want...we feel so disappointed. We feel like failures or losers. Whether its having trouble finding a job, buying a car or home, getting into a certain school or just wanting to get married; I just want to tell you to don't stress. Stop worrying. Just rest. Cast all your cares to Jesus. Let him know what's going on with you and your world. He's more than happy to hear what's happening in your life. All HE is asking from you is to make him #1 in your life. In all aspects of your life. Work. School. Family. When that happens...your whole world changes. Just give HIM a try. You won't be disappointed.

The Functions of Fruits & Veggies

I thought this chart was so interesting! When I eat my fruits and vegetables I usually don't think about what it can do for my body "health wise". I just eat my veggies because I know its good and healthy for me. This chart is great because now when I eat bananas I know that it is good for energy and that blueberries is good for the heart. How cool is that!

What is Oil Pulling?

At first when I heard about Oil Pulling I was like "What is that?" The word Oil Pulling might sound like a strange and excruciating thing. Oil Pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic technique for detoxing. Oil pulling really helps with oral hygiene and many other ailments like: Tooth Whitening, Mouth & Gum Disease, Stiff Joints, Allergies, Asthma, High Blood Sugar, Constipation; Migraines, Bronchitis, Eczema and more!
  • All you do is take 2 teaspoon of sesame oil or coconut oil and swish it around your mouth for 15-20 minutes. (Make sure the oil is organic. I bought mine at Whole foods)
  • Do not gargle with the oil. You do not want to risk swallowing it.
  • Once done swishing, spit the oil out into a trash bag or plastic cup. (Don't spit it out in your toilet or sink it might clog it.)
  •  Finish by brushing your teeth and rinsing with water.
After doing the oil pulling, I notice a couple days later my teeth was whitened and my gums were pink and healthy. I'm all for taking care of your body naturally. You can either oil pull in the morning before you brush your teeth or before you go to bed. Remember I'm not a doctor or dentist so check with your physician first! So if you want a natural way of getting your teeth whitened and also detox your mouth & body. Then try oil pulling ! Check out a video below more about Oil pulling! Let me know if it works!

Key West For The Weekend!

Aah!!! Finally I went on my much needed vacation. Look at me cheesing! Yes that's how happy I was to get a break from work and school. I took a 4 hour road trip this past weekend with my family. Here I'm standing at the southernmost point of Key West. I am literally 90 miles away from Cuba. How cool is that!
These were the travel accesorries I bought with me for this 4hour road trip. Sunglasses, Crackberry Bold, watch, and a new book I started reading "Having A Mary Heart in a Martha World". I also bought my favorite snacks Hot Cheetos and Oreos :)
